april-2014-favorites

It’s May! Finally! Hopefully this means [consistently] warmer weather – I’m ready to leave the rain clouds from April behind. Now – for the beauty favorites, which were ALL new to me this month [if this doesn't solidify the fact that I have a makeup hoarding problem, I'm not sure what does]. Let’s get right into it:

My new foundation love is YSL’s Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation, a super blendable foundation that provides excellent coverage and has a natural finish. It adds a subtle glow to the skin without looking the least bit greasy, and I only have to powder once throughout the day. For blush I have been all about the pinky-corals, and there is no better out there than Makeup Forever’s HD Blush in 215. This product glides onto the skin and achieves a very natural, almost air-brushed finish.

In the eye makeup department, I have been wearing Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Palette in The Sophisticate and L’Oreal’s Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner non-stop. The Sophisticate is the perfect everyday quad; I’ll apply the taupe-y Enhance shade to my crease and lower lash line, and add a bit more definition to the outer-v with the darker brown Pop shade. The Super Slim Eyeliner is hands-down, the best liquid eye pen I have used [and I'm talking out of both high end and drugstore products]. The longer, tapered felt applicator does all of the work for you, and doesn’t drag across the lid; achieving a clean line or dramatic wing is effortless.

My favorite nail polish this month is Essie’s Cute as a Button, which is, as its name states, an incredibly cute bright coral. This polish applies evenly and lasts days before chipping [my at-home manicure lasted for five].

Lastly, we have to talk about my favorite category of makeup items – lip products. I have three this month: Bobbi Brown’s Lip Gloss in Nectar; Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Shell; and Marc Jacobs Lovemarc Lip Gel in Have We Met? Nectar is the most perfect pinky-peachy-coral – ever. It is a bit tacky, but that’s what makes it grip to the lips and last for four to five hours. Shell is a gorgeous, shimmering muted coral pink that looks incredible on its own or overtop of a nude lipstick [I love pairing it with Mac's Jubilee]. Jouer’s lip glosses are incredibly comfortable to wear and leave lips feeling hydrated, even after the product wears off. Have We Met? Is a lovely brighter pink with subtle shimmer – I love wearing this with just a bit of black gel liner for a chic, girly look.

What are your April 2014 beauty favorites?
